Jimmy Gennaro Damico, 88 of Cumberland died Monday, February 4, 2019 at that Cumberland Healthcare, Cumberland Wisconsin. Jimmy was born June 18, 1930 in Johnstown township in Polk County to Sam and Louise (Gagliardi) Damico.
Jimmy served his country for 10 years, while serving his country he met his love, June Carol Jerry and married her on May 28, 1955.
When he left the Army he purchased a milk route, in which he owned four milk trucks, also had the first bulk truck running to Stella Cheese in Cumberland, Wisconsin. After selling his milk route, he then purchased the Barronett Bar, Barronett, Wisconsin, in which he co-owned for four years, he later purchased Damico City Laundry, Cumberland, Wisconsin in which he owned for twelve years. After selling the laundry, he retired to enjoy hunting and fishing. Then, he and June spent the next fifteen years traveling the country side in their motorhome visiting family and friends.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 63 years, June; 2 children, Daniel T. Damico and Judith A. Damico; 4 grandchildren, Holly M. Witte, Joseph G. (Amanda) Witte, Melody A. (James) Witte Madden, Troy A. Witte; 2 great-grandsons, Jaxon and Grayson; sister, Ruth (Jack) Santella Pascoe, brother-in-law, Edwin Pickar, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, George Damico, Virginia Damico and Shirley Pickar.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church, 900 St. Anthony’s St., Cumberland, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 930-1030 at St. Anthony’s Church.
