April 29, 1938 - September 5, 2016
Dale J. Randall, most beloved Dad, brother, uncle, friend, companion, deer hunter buddy and mentor, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2016. The 10 point bucks, crappies and walleyes, in the Cumberland area, can all relax for a while, because Dale has moved to a better place. He now has the best seats available for watching those football games. Go Badgers, Go Vikings!! We think it ironic, that Dale passed away on Labor Day; a holiday in honor of working people. Dale worked hard all his life, as farm kid, manager for magazine distributor, owner/operator of Band Box Dry Cleaner (Cumberland). In his retirement (if you can call it that), he drove vans for Handi-lift, delivered meals on wheels, active in the community (small business owners), volunteering and served on the Senior Citizen Board.
You couldn't walk around Cumberland with Dale, without saying "Hello" to at least a dozen people. He made a positive impact on so many people, young and old. To say he was well liked, would be an understatement. We will miss his story telling and sassy wit. We hope that heaven has a bottomless cup of coffee, pickle sandwiches, miracle whip (to spread on EVERYTHING) mashed potatoes and gravy, and gravy and gravy. Did we mention gravy?
Dad/Grandpa will be especially missed, by his daughter, Vicki (Dave), grandkids, Kayla, Kevin and Scott; his son, Jim (Liz); grandkids, A.J., Kirk and sweet great granddaughter, Olivia; his best friend and companion, Ethel Anderson; loving sister, Mary Ann Smith. Dale has always maintained close relationships with Pat Olson and Beverly Stearns. Many thanks to Jim Wombill and Joel Olson for always "having Dale's back".
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Cumberland, WI. Visitation will be from 9:30 -10:30 AM on Saturday at the church. Luncheon will be serviced at 11:30 AM.
In remembrance of Dale, we would like you all, to do an unsolicited act of kindness towards a stranger, which is what he would still be doing, if he were still here. In lieu of flowers, Dale and his family would appreciate money contributions, which will be used to purchase and stock hospital playrooms, toy cabinets and birthday gifts for children of Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare. Please send donations to Dave and Vicki Tyrrell, 8436 85th St. S. Cottage Grove MN. 55016. We will also have a card box, at Dad's celebration, of a life well lived.
