August 16, 1920 - January 24, 2017

Mary Bernice "B." Brown, 96, of Cumberland died Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Care and Rehab - Cumberland. She was born August 16, 1920 in New Richmond, WI to George and Grace (McNamara) Brown. Bernice graduated from New Richmond High School in 1938, and Superior State College in 1942 with her B.S. in Elementary Education. She taught two years Forest Lake, then moved to Cumberland in 1945 and taught 5th grade at Cumberland Elementary School until retiring in 1985. B was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and CCW, the Cumberland Hospital Auxillary and the Barron County Retired Educators.

She enjoyed getting together with family and friends and was proud of her Irish heritage.

Beatrice is survived by nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, her sister, Elaine (Bob) Kocian and brother, Edmund (Eleanor) Brown.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, January 30, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Cumberland, WI with Father Andrew Ricci officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, New Richmond, WI. The urn bearer is Don Brown. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:30 on Monday at the church.
