SACRED HEART CEMETERY RULES AND REGULATIONS ALMENA, WI (AUGUST 2001)
All cemetery lots must be paid for in full at the time of the purchase and prior to the delivery of a deed to the lot(s).
No more than two (2) cremains may occupy any one gravesite, for identification purposes.
The tops of any gravestones which are placed at the foot of any gravesite must not protrude and must be even with the ground.
No stones, markers, plants or any other materials shall be located in a manner or in a place which impairs the ability of the custodian to maintain any grave site or lot.
No permanent plants, urns, or other devices may be placed in front of or behind any headstone. Said items may be located within one (1) foot of either end of a headstone foundation.
All bases for plant stands and flower cranes and the like must be drilled by a cemetery board-approved monument company.
Effective June 1, 2001, no plants or shrubs which currently are or which will grow to a total height in excess of four (4) feet may be planted by individuals. The cemetery board is exempt from this regulation and may plant such plants or shrubs as are voted on by the board.
All wreaths and other memorial items which have been placed upon graves and which interfere with maintenance of any grave must be removed by July 10 of each year. Any items not removed by that date would be removed by the cemetery board and discarded.
Artificial flowers are permitted: however, when the effects of the weather take their toll it will be up to the discretion of the maintenance personnel to remove them. Just like live flowers, artificial ones have to be replaced every year.
Individuals are requested to place old flowers and wreaths in the barrel provided for that purpose. Such flowers, wreaths and other items shall not be discarded in the bushes or over the banks of lightening creek.
The Sexton selling lots will give the buyer a set of the regulations of cemetery policies.
Before selling a new lot next to the deceased, the relatives of the deceased will be contacted to see if they want any more lots.
The care and upkeep of the grave stone is the responsibility of the family that placed it there.
Please help us maintain our cemetery as a fitting place of rest for our loved ones. Thank you, The Cemetery Committee
